Offering a thoughtful collection of curated contemporary and antiquarian books, unique greeting cards & stationery, literary & amusing gifts, and art.
used books
While our collection of used books represents a wide range of genres, the literary and the quirky are where we shine. Most of our books come from our regular guests via our trade credit policy (info below), providing ready insight into the nature of our community.
We also carry a very small collection of new books, mostly about local subjects by local authors (and History Book Festival titles in the lead-up to the festival in September).
Want to know if we have a specific book? Give us a call during normal business hours. Our collection is small but it turns over quickly, making an email inquiry unhelpful.
Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
“Second-hand books are wild books, homeless books; they come together in variegated feather, and have a charm which the domesticated volumes of the library lack.”
gifts, cards, stationery, & art
We love offering thoughtful and amusing cards and gifts created by other small businesses, like ours.
We also have a small collection of boxed note cards and writing paper.
Our walls hold pieces of original art that we love spending our days with—all by local artists.
We also have collections of prints by other artists from around the country.
Wish we sold our gifts and cards online? We don’t (‘cause we love focusing on the in-person experience), but most of our tiny suppliers do. If you’re looking for something, give us a call during business hours, and we can happily point you in the right direction.
Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
“I’m a believer in the power of knowledge and the ferocity of beauty, so from my point of view, your life is already artful—waiting, just waiting, for you to make it art.”
